I once read somewhere that you should make statements instead of asking questions in order to be perceived as influential and powerful.
I don’t remember exactly where I read it, but it feels like bullshit.
This seems like the kind of trite advice that a self-absorbed, power-hungry person would give.
When we ask questions, we run the risk of the overly-self-assured assuming we don’t have any answers.
Of course we do. It’s the questions that give us the answers.
Let them make their assumptions. They’ll have their assumptions, and we’ll have answers.
